Exhibit Purpose

For upcoming trade shows, Travel Portland’s booth needed to accomplish three key goals

Make a Statement

Demonstrate the scale and wonder of the city of Portland through large-scale graphics, custom flooring, and massive replicas of local landmarks.

Meeting Spaces

Provide spaces for face-to-face interactions with stakeholders in the meeting and convention fields to drive sustainable visitation growth.

Engage, Educate, Entertain

Draw in attendees to introduce and showcase Portland's unique culture, values, and must-see places.

The Solution

Travel Portland needed one booth that could work across three different shows, each with a different theme, without a full redesign (and a new budget) every time. We worked with their marketing team early to map out what each show actually needed: enough scale to make people stop walking, real space for face-to-face conversations, and enough of Portland’s personality built in that people wanted to stick around. Building that flexibility in from the start is what let the same booth do all three jobs instead of needing a different one for each show.

Design Elements:

Custom Flooring: Designed to replicate the Willamette River.

Display Bridge: Featured images of Portland's iconic bridges at a massive scale.

Visual Dominance: Mountains, waterfalls, and cityscapes visually dominated the booth, evoking the same awe these landmarks stir in person.

Neon Signs: Custom neon signs replicated city landmarks.

Greenery: Lush green plants adorned the open space, paying homage to the Pacific Northwest.
