WESST is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to encourage economic self-sufficiency through sustained self-employment in New Mexico. Whether you need a small business start-up loan to finance your dream, or advice about marketing or managing your small business, WESST can help.

For over twenty years, WESST has been helping entrepreneurs find their path to success. WESST is a 501c3 non-profit organization that serves entrepreneurs in six regional offices throughout New Mexico. People from all walks of life with all kinds of ideas go to WESST for support and business direction. WESST clients look just like you: women, men, urban, rural, sole proprietors to large businesses, service to manufacturing companies, restaurants to technical companies.  

WESST also has special programs that focus on the specific needs of women, minority, rural and low-income clients, including an Individual Development Account (IDA) Program offering financial literacy training and a matched savings program for home purchase, education or business assets. WESST is expanding services to its clients with a distance learning program that features recorded workshops, seminars and other online learning tools.

The WESST staff is a group of experienced professionals with a compassionate approach to working with entrepreneurs. Their dedication to helping clients is one of the reasons people come back to WESST again and again.

Joy Junction is a place of refuge to those who have been forced into the streets. As many as 300 women, children and families count on us each day for food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and an array of other services. While Joy Junction is the largest homeless shelter in New Mexico, it is also so much more. Our mission is committed to restoring precious lives which have been forgotten and abandoned by society.

Joy Junction is a full-service human reclamation plant that opens its doors to virtually anyone who desires help, ministering to the needs of the body, soul and spirit. We provide hope for the hopeless, and a hand-up to teach the skills necessary to allow our residents to return to employment and mainstream society.

For some twenty-three years we have been leading our residents through recovery and a return to the mainstream. Our Life Recovery Program, which is also known as C. I. P. P. (Christ in Power Program), has taken many hundreds of our residents through the recovery process and introduced them to personal recovery. When ready, those who have successfully completed the CIPP program are provided further opportunities to enhance their likelihood of successfully returning to the mainstream, and becoming a contributing member of society.

We also operate a mobile food wagon which travels to some of Albuquerque’s homeless “hot spots” five days a week dubbed “The Lifeline of Hope.” We provide hot meals, sack lunches, personal hygiene kits, blankets, sleeping bags and a number of other items.

Joy Junction does not receive any government funding, and donors help provide a hand up to those in need. Volunteers help us assist those in need.  We also accept donations of:

• Food

• Clothing

• Furniture

• Appliances

• Bedding

• Linens

• Household items

• Bleach

• Toilet paper

• Paper towels

• Trash bags, etc. 

Some of these items are used in our ministry to the homeless and others are sold at our Thrift Store, which in addition to serving as a training ground for some of those on our recovery program, also helps with shelter operating costs.
