KOATS for Kids

“KOATS for Kids” is the longest-running public service campaign in KOAT 7’s history. For more than 20 years, the station has partnered with various organizations to ensure that New Mexico’s children have warm, quality coats to wear during this time of year. No one can deny that a good coat is something each and every child deserves, but far too many children have parents who are unable to afford such a necessity.

The campaign simply asks the community to donate new or gently used coats at various locations throughout the state. The coats are then collected, cleaned, and distributed back to children in communities across the state. It’s a simple show of generosity that reaps wonderful results.

KOAT 7 launchs the “KOATs for Kids” campaign on Thanksgiving each year and concludes the campaign on December 24th. 

In 2009, more than 10,000 coats were collected and distributed to children across the state. Since this program is well known and popular in the New Mexico, KOAT receives donations of coats all year. 

Drop off your new or gently used coats at EXHIB-IT! from November 30 through December 24 and help the needy children of New Mexico.
