|This year’s 7th Annual B2B Event was the best one yet! Since we outgrew two venues over the past six years, we knew we had to take the event to a much larger place. We selected the Manuel Lujan Building at the Expo NM Fairgrounds as the venue. The staff at Expo NM were so easy to work with and accommodated to our every need for a large space that required air conditioning, Wi-Fi, stage, access to early set up the day before and access to the building the entire day of the event. They made it so easy for us to plan this event!
The exhibitors set up from 1 pm – 4 PM on the day of the event and all were ready when doors opened at 5 PM. The 20+ volunteers made check in and registration so much easier as the attendees came in, picked up their name badge and were handed the Social Media interaction info sheets and the premiere exhibitor passports.
Adding the Live Social Media Streaming was a huge success and we received many positive comments with the interaction and experience at the event. Even better, we added Streaming NM as one of our sponsors and they put the entire event Live on the Internet and interviewed many exhibitors, attendees and sponsors about the event. The feedback was awesome!
Our entertainer Sally Townes was a delight to work with and she provided excellent music along with her drummer. Jeffrey Candelaria, as always, was a great master of ceremonies! Our Official Photographer this year was Shayla Edenfield of Affordable Wedding Photography and she was there to capture interaction and activity for archiving the historical moments of our event.
Every year we select a nonprofit to be the recipient of the Silent Auction proceeds and this year we selected Dream BIG! The Online Auction and Silent/Live Auction raised around $7,000 to help with their upcoming Kutz for Kids and Backpacks for Kids campaign coming up this August. Our goal was $10,000 as we had hoped to continue the success of the auction and I also contributed an additional $500 to them to help their cause. EXHIB-IT! donated a $2200 tabletop pop up exhibit with full graphics and a logo table throw to Dream BIG to help them with marketing and awareness when at events.
I walked the event myself from 630-730 pm and was delighted to see the interaction between the attendees and the exhibitors and sponsors. The room, which we thought would be too big, ended up being just the right size for people to spread out and enjoy themselves. I received lots of exhibitor feedback with positive comments and also from the attendees.
Overall I was very pleased to see the event was a success. I personally thank everyone who participated and attended to make this event the best one yet. We will continue to work at making this event a memorable one every year!
